Lani Homan-Taylor

Ghislaine Homan-Taylor is an accomplished eventing rider, trainer, and instructor, known for her skill and dedication to Utah’s eventing community. Specializing in eventing, hunter/jumpers, and dressage, Lani brings extensive experience and a wide breadth of knowledge to her students and the horses she is training. Lani has been teaching and training for over 15 years in Utah and on the East Coast.

Lani spent her summers from ages 11 to 17 in Boston as a sponsored rider for Groton House Farms. She was able to bring numerous horses up the levels and make trips to train in England with Danny Anholt. She trained with a number of other top eventers and jumpers including Eric Smiley, Jennifer Berryman, and Bobby Costello. She moved to Boston after high school to continue riding and eventually ended up managing and training out of a high-end foxhunting barn before moving back to Utah.

Lessons & Coaching

In addition to her success as a competitor, Lani is also a gifted instructor and coach. She has a unique ability to connect with riders of all levels, from fresh beginners to advanced competitors, and has a passion for helping them improve their riding skills and develop a deeper understanding of horsemanship. She is known for her positive and encouraging teaching style, which inspires her students to achieve their full potential.

Lani travels to teach throughout southern Salt Lake County and northern Utah County, and is based out of Pegasus Sport Horses in Cedar Fort.

Riding & Training

When she is not teaching, Lani constantly seeks to better herself, her horses, and her clients through an extensive training program. She and many of her upper-level students travel throughout the western states to recognized events, where she competes her own and her clients’ horses of all levels up to CCI2*. Lani can most regularly be found competing at Skyline Eventing Park in Mount Pleasant, Utah, which she co-founded and serves on the organizing board, alongside partners Carrie Matteson, Summer Peterson, and Taylor Timmerman.

Lani's passion for eventing and her commitment to her students have made her a respected figure in the equestrian community, and she continues to inspire and educate riders of all levels.
